Transportation to/from Changi and the City

Lived there for 3 years. The easiest way to get to & from Changi, especially with baggage, is via local taxi. Signs for the taxi queues are located just outside baggage claim. You may be approached by locals inside the terminal (especially if you're arriving late in the evening), guaranteeing to take you "anywhere in the city" for only SGD 35 (or thereabouts. It's a ripoff. Most of the hotels will be located within a mile or two of the downtown area...or about 20 minutes from the airport. Total metered cost will be about half of what one of the touts offers you. The local MRT is safe & efficient but usually a bit crowded - not a comfortable experience if you're horsing around a lot of luggage. Great for backpackers or people without too much stuff however.
