Museum de Carnavalet is a smaller, lesser known museum in Paris. It displays, among other interesting artifiacts, the original street signs that dotted Paris before its buildings had numbers. In general, you'll see the stories of the city's history told through art. In particular, there are a lot of maps from and paintings of the French Revolution era. The museum costs about 10 Euros.
