Singapore has always been known as an urban city because of all its modern buildings. On the other hand, there is a place called the Pulau Ubin which is a more historical district. You'll find the older villages there. It only takes about ten minutes to get there from the hotel.

You can also check out the marine life at Chek Jawa. It will cost you $8 (Singapore) to get a boat to get there. Once you get there, you may rent a bicycle for $10 a day and ride on the clearly marked trails. It is a beach area with a village town.
