There is a recreation area where all the locals hang out on the east coast of the island. It is called the East Coast Recreation Park. There you'll find a golf driving range, many different kinds of cuisines and places to rent bikes. You can even stay overnight and barbeque on the beach.

This area is very renowned for its seafood restaurants. In fact, Singapore has always been particularly famous for its pepper crabs and chili crabs.
