We took our family to NYC for 3 nights/4 days for sightseeing. We stayed at Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson (see Tip re: this hotel stay because we highly recommend this hotel). The PATH station was right next door! NYC/Ground Zero/Wall St. was only 1 stop away - about 8 minutes. You can buy a pass at the PATH station and preload money onto it. Each way per person costs $1.50. No special kids fare. Also, during Monday-Friday, you can switch trains to take you to 32nd Street, this is only 10 blocks away from Times Square. We walked it with kids in 15 minutes. Subway was clean and safe, we rode as late as 11 p.m. Amazing views of NYC skyline from Jersey City.
I am traveling Labor Day weekend and staying at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. Sounds like the property and location are great. Also, sounds like taking the PATH is the way to go to see Manhattan. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get to Yankee Stadium using public transportation?
